Join us on August 5 for a unique tour of The Kelsey Civic Center, a disability forward, low carbon community of 112 households in the heart of San Francisco. Learn how The Kelsey works as a co-developer with best-in-class developers like Mercy Housing to build mixed-income, mixed-ability communities where people with and without disabilities can live independently, in community, in homes they can afford. Hear the inside story from Louisa Bukiet and Fiona Ruddy about the development’s groundbreaking inclusive design features and how this project leveraged innovative sources of capital and captured unrealized land value. June 25, 2026 at Noon ET: In Conversation with Developers Belinda Watts and Karin Liljegren

We had a robust conversation with two talented entrepreneurs who leveraged their expertise in design, construction and adaptive reuse to become small scale developers. Belinda Watts of Row Partners has bought and renovated residential buildings during her 30+ year career of delivering commercial, multifamily and institutional projects for Fortune 500 companies. Karin Liljegren, Founder of Omgivning, purchased and repurposed an LA industrial building as söm co-working space + residential units in addition to leading her Architectural practice focusing on adaptive reuse and urban infill. Rebecca Glasgow of Citibank moderated this interactive discussion about how they found properties worth buying, kept projects within budget, secured capital, and attracted tenants to pay the rent! Aspiring and experienced developers, learned about how to be a successful small scale developer.
